In her quiet residential street on the edge of Mandurah, south of Perth, 73 year old Maureen Compton often hears the distant rumble of passing motorcycles.
Riding never appealed to her, but Maureen was fascinated by the trikes.
Chatting one day with a new neighbour, she revealed her secret ambition, to ride on a trike.
Her neighbour, Julianne Barh, is a member of Ulysses Club Mandurah – Murray Branch.
A few phone calls later, fellow Ulyssean Maurice Bersan turned up on his Custom Trikes Australia trike, powered by a VW Type 3 1640cc engine, to help Maureen tick an item off her bucket list.
Did she enjoy it? We’ll let Mrs Compton speak for herself; “My feet still feel as if they are hovering above the ground somehow and as far as the inner smile, well that will never go away. This will stay with me for all time. Thank you for such wonderful kindness and a fantastic experience.”
Well done, Mandurah-Murray Branch.
