Purchasing, Advertising, Membership and Safety Report, Spring 2018

I am so looking forward to the end of this particularly wet and cold winter at least by WA standards and being able to ride without so many layers of clothes that I resemble the Michelin Man.

Our National Rally may seem a way off but it will soon be time to plan your trip to the brilliant Mornington area, I am so looking forward to our first Ulysses Club National Rally, but I always looked forward to our AGM and I know the guys organising this will make it something special and an event to remember.

Those of you that we have a current email address for would have received the first of the Gear Shop E-newsletters that we will be sending out on a monthly basis. The Gear Shop E-newsletter will feature product of the month, specials for the month along with new products. This is still a work in progress and we hope to improve the layout soon. I would love to get some feedback from you on this new feature of your club. If you do not receive these E-newsletters, then please contact our National Office to check that we have your correct email address.

Advertising in our magazine seems to have levelled out, which is an improvement on the past trend, however we still need to bring the cost of producing and posting the magazine under control. That is the reason we have moved to reduce the pages in Riding On and we are planning to send all members a link to the online version of Riding On as soon as it is available to encourage those who would like to save the club money to consider cancelling their hard copy and going digital.

I would like to get some RV related advertisers to use our Riding On, so if any of you RV Groups guys know of any businesses that may be interested please get in touch with me.

Following on from our extended NatCom meeting in Barmera where we asked you for ideas to help promote our club and encourage new members we had a suggestion that we needed new and more relevant pull up banners to use at events that we attend including toy runs, motorcycle shows and meetings. So I have asked that our graphic designer from Diamond Graphic come up with some banners that would attract younger people to our club, Amy Zazy has come back with 5 new posters and 3 new pull up banners that I think look great. These will be sent out in pdf format to all branches to have printed and promote membership.
